1. Basic Function:

* Overseeing and managing a team of supervisors, planners, coordinators and assistants in developing and executing strategic media plans for clients

* Monitoring development of media plans for clients
* Maintaining and developing client relationships
* Strengthening and maintaining the positive reputation of the department
* Contributing to the overall vision and education of the department and agency
* Facilitating new business opportunities as needed

2. Position Responsibilities:

* Maintain relationships with senior level management on client side and internal agency staff to ensure cross departmental integration, communication and education
* Develop media plan strategies, including media brief, consistent with brand marketing objectives and selling strategy, oversee media plan development and implementation, oversee preparation/recommendations to clients
* Keep current on media trends, industry news/research relevant to our clients and meeting new vendors/reps, insure best practices are applied
* Contribute to the vision of the department and new business efforts with new or existing clients. Work closely with interactive creative group to develop unique integrated campaigns and solutions
* Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and handle all personnel requirements for immediate staff including training and development

3. Position Duties:

Daily duties will include, but are not limited to:

o Overseeing training of department employees and assessing needs/skills and advising on strategies for improvement and general upkeep of productivity for the department.

o Manage client’s business goals and objectives and educate team members on the importance of them as it relates to media strategies and recommendations

o Fiscal responsibility for department budget including updates, managing resource contracts (not human) and assessing additional needs/allocations

o Taking lead in annual media strategy recommendations and post mortems for clients on specific assigned accounts and/or all accounts

o Key leadership role in representing agency in new business pitches and media department for agency and clients

o Maintain trust and leadership stature in all communication (internal or external) with clients, partners and staff
